FURJAM 2008 – EVENT LINE UP


Friday, 26th September
FurJam will kick off with dinner at the Rose of Australia Hotel, located on 1 Swanson Street in Erskineville.  The Rose was a hit last year; with a private room and well priced/high-quality food and drinks.
NOTE: Only those 18 years of age and over can attend this event.

 Saturday, 27th September

We will be meeting at 12pm at Centennial Park; a good space to talk, draw and play a few games. As well as a BBQ there’ll be contests in cooking, sport, talent and art to keep everyone occupied. There will be 3 competitions on the day.

  1. Art Competition: Draw whatever you like on the day, The best drawing will win a prize!.
  2. Food Competition: Bring along something you have cooked, The best item will win a prize, as well as helping to feed the masses!.
  3. Talent Competition: Got a talent? Why not show off! Best talent will win a prize, Please keep in mind this is a public park and safety rules apply

Sausages and bread will be on offer for free, But gold coin donations would be gladly accepted to cover costs. If people want to bring other things to BBQ please do!.

After this we will walk up to China Town for dinner at Daruma, A cheap Japanese resturant with wonderful food, They have simple dishes like fried chicken, curry, and other more westernised dishes for those not interested in Japanese food. Following dinner we will walk up to George St Cinemas and catch a movie.

Sunday, 28th September
We’ll meet at 11am at Darling Harbor for 2 games of M9 Laser Force, which will cost $20 for 2 games.

From there, we’ll catch a ferry to Circular Quay, and then get a ferry to Manly. The trip will take about 30 minutes and offers stunning views of the northern harbor.
Once in Manly, we’ll get lunch at the Esplanade, followed by shopping.
From there we shall split into two groups for nearby activities:

  1. Go to the Manly Water Works (4 big water slides), $14.50 for 2 hours
  2. Go to Ocean World (Manly Aquarium), $17.95 Adults/Concession $12.95

After either of these the group will return via ferry to Circular Quay, and then catch a ferry to Watsons Bay (this time offering a scenic tour of the southern harbor).
At Watson’s Bay we’ll have dinner at Watsons Bay pub.

ADVICE: You’ll save money and time on this day if you purchase a DayTripper ticket from railway stations or other ticket venues. These cost $16 Adults/$8 Concession and allow unlimited travel on trains, buses and ferries for 24 hours.
